Our overall team grade point average has improved consistently over the past 8 semesters. Again at the 2013 EWL Championships, LHU placed all ten wrestlers in the top 6 with 2 finalists, 1 third, and 2 fourth place finishers. At the 2012 PSAC championships, all ten Bald Eagles placed in the top 6 with 3 finalists and 2 champions.

This season we started 5 freshman, 2 sophomores, 2 juniors and 1 senior. Most recently, sophomore Fred Garcia (2-2) and freshman Dan Neff (1-2) won matches and reached the second day of competition and were poised to become NCAA All-Americans next season. In each of my four years as interim and head coach, we have sent wrestlers to the NCAA Championship and won matches every time there. Three of these teams had beaten us by 28 points or more in dual meets during the previous two seasons. In 2012-13, we were the only LHU men’s athletic program with a winning record (7-6) with notable wins over Eastern Michigan, West Virginia, Bucknell, Cleveland State and Duke. Over the past four years, we have seen improvement in every area of the LHU wrestling program.
